The Sun Hotel
The Sun Hotel describes itself as 'a creaky old building with a great bar' and that's certainly what you get. A real traditional and cosy feel, The Sun is the first pub you come to after walking down Walna Scar Road from the old man, so expect to see alot of walkers taking a well earned rest after a day on the fells. The Sun has been a local favuorite for over 400 years. The pub usually has 8 ales on tap, as well as a well curated whiskey collection.
The Ship Inn
The Ship Inn is on a hill overlooking the village, on the Cumbrian Way. This is another Robinsons pub and like most local pubs, dogs and walkers are most welcome, A cozy traditional pub with some classic Robinsons Ales, all well kept. The food menu is varied, from sandwiches and jacket potatoes to Pizza, curry and tradional favourites such as Salmon Fillet and Beef in Stilton. Vegetarians, Pescatarians and Vegans are well catered for.
The Black Bull
One of the most popular pubs in Coniston, The Black Bull is a 400 year old Coaching Inn, situated in the centre of Coniston village. A great stop off point after tackling the 'Old Man'. The pub has a selection of real ales, as well as great food and 15 bedrooms. The pub has the added bonus of having it's own brewery next door, so you can try the local specials, such as Old Man Ale, Bluebird Bitter and Oatmeal Stout. Dogs are welcome, and outside seating is available. The menu is hearty pub fare, as well as a selection of fish delivered fresh every morning.
The Coniston Inn
The Coniston Inn is located on Hawkshead Old Road, on the shores of Coniston Water. As well as 42 rooms and an acclaimed restaurant, the Pub at the Coniston Inn has been serving customers for over 100 years. The pub has a fresh feel, and boasts an extensive wine and gin selection as well as a good range of Ales, Ciders and an international selection of lagers.
The Yewdale Hotel
The Yewdale Hotel is in the centre of Coniston, opposite the back bull and stumbling ditance to the Sun. Great ales on tap as well as a good wine menu, the pub also boasts 'Enzo's Pizzeria', serving breakfast, lunch and evening meals.
The Crown Inn
The Crown Inn can be found in the centre of the village, just minutes from the lake. The Crown boasts a good selection of Robinson's Ales. There is a large seating area, as well as food served all day. Customers rave about the Sticky Toffee pudding and the Steak & Ale Pie!
The Wilsons Arms
The Wilsons Arms can be found in Torver, a little way down the A593 from Conitson itself. As well as the pub, they have rooms and a restaurant with an extensive menu. The roaring log fire gives the pub a cozy feel. A great pace to sample the local ales always on tap.
