The main brewery is located further down the road, but this pub just 30 miles from New Orleans is a great place to try this incredible beer, as well as savour some of the pub’s delicious sandwiches, pastas, burgers and salads. There are also more than 20 different beers to try, all Abita branded and of different varieties. Lagers, root beers, IPAs, you name it – it’s on sale in the Abita Brew Pub.

Archetype Brewery is one of the funkiest venues you will find on this list. Modern and contemporary, the brewery showcases the flavour of North Carolina through its variety of beers, including experimental ales, pilsners and IPAs. The company’s Tap Room has seen such success that a second establishment opened in 2019 in downtown Asheville. The venues themselves don’t serve food, but the restaurants next door are happy to bring food to your table, in a partnership with Archetype. Tucked away in downtown Williamsport, Bullfrog Brewery is a fairly inconspicuous establishment that comes alive when you go inside. As well as being an award-winning craft microbrewery, Bullfrog also operates as a pub, eatery and venue for live music, rolling everything you need for a perfect night out into one. Founders Brewing is another company, like Brooklyn, which is recognised across the USA and beyond. The company’s Grand Rapids Tap Room caters to drinkers of all types of beer, with a range of delicious craft beers. As Kansas City’s largest locally-owned craft brewery, Kansas City Bier Company has mastered its German influence to bring guests high-quality beer and a simple warehouse-style brew and taproom to enjoy them in. Opened in 2014, with an aim to blend German-style bier with local fresh flavors, you’ll find year-round brews of Dunkel, Hefeweizen, and Helles Lager along with a range of seasonal styles to keep you coming back to try more. Since opening in 2016, Little City Brewing has gone from strength to strength. Lupulin, an active ingredient in hops, is the chosen name for co-founders Matt & Jeff craft beer company, and for good reason, they love hoppy beer. A quirky brewery in Virginia, you’ll know Port City is open for business if you drive past and there’s a pineapple positioned on top of the sign. Owners Craig and Sara grew up nearby, and after exploring the world for 21 years, they wanted to bring back a taste of their travels to Northeast, Iowa, their true home. Their operation sticks to a holistic approach, and with an abundance of rich farmland in the region, PIVO Brewery grows its own hops, fruit, and cucumbers to use in their beer and cider. The taproom itself is equally impressive, with 40 taps showcasing their craft beer and cider along with rotating guest taps.

Roadhouse in Wyoming is known for its fresh handcrafted beers, from the Highwayman pilsner to the Trout Whistle pale ale. If this is high on your list too, Smog City Brewery & Taproom in Torrance, California fits the bill. A large warehouse-style building, there’s no hiding the fact you’re in a busy brewery. On tap, you’ll find a range of beautifully crafted Saisons, Belgian blondes, American IPA’s, porters, and even their award-winning Raisin’ Cane Ale. You can thank Tim Gill Jr for gifting his father a homebrew kit back in 2009, which sparked owner Tim Gill Senior’s love of brewing.

This establishment describes itself as “weird”, which is a clue suggesting that it isn’t your normal brewery. The Tap Room is extremely small, and the brewery doesn’t try to compete with others out there, simply making solid beer using local Idaho ingredients. Though the Tap Room is small, the brewery itself is the sixth largest in Idaho, a testament to the success of the beers it produces, which can be found on sale throughout the state. The small Tap Room feels more like a coffee shop, but it’s a nice place to enjoy a beer, and the restaurant next door, Manfreds, will serve food to you if you fancy a meal.
