Abita Brew Pub, Abita Springs, Louisiana
Like many of the breweries featured on this list, Abita Brew Pub is the home of an independent and special beer. In this case, it’s Abita Beer. The main brewery is located further down the road, but this pub just 30 miles from New Orleans is a great place to try this incredible beer, as well as savour some of the pub’s delicious sandwiches, pastas, burgers and salads. There are also more than 20 different beers to try, all Abita branded and of different varieties. Lagers, root beers, IPAs, you name it – it’s on sale in the Abita Brew Pub.
Archetype Brewing, Asheville, North Carolina
Archetype Brewery is one of the funkiest venues you will find on this list. Modern and contemporary, the brewery showcases the flavour of North Carolina through its variety of beers, including experimental ales, pilsners and IPAs. The company’s Tap Room has seen such success that a second establishment opened in 2019 in downtown Asheville. The venues themselves don’t serve food, but the restaurants next door are happy to bring food to your table, in a partnership with Archetype. You can also get their beers delivered straight to your door, via the company’s online shop.
Augustino Brewing Company, Wichita, Kansas
This small, cosy brewery in the heart of Wichita offers the local community a great place to go for a couple of delectable craft beers. Their year round flagship beers include Kanaka Kay Blonde Ale and Hip & Hopped IPA. You are welcome to taste a couple before you commit to drinking one, and the friendly staff are always on hand to advise which beer may suit your taste. As well as their extensive range of homebrewed beer, Augustino does a range of food, including appetizers, sandwiches and a BBQ platter. Austin Beerworks, Austin, Texas
Since opening in 2011, Austin Beerworks have specialised in canned beer, shunning bottles. The brewery produces a raft of different beers, all in colourful cans and of a variety of types and flavours. You can drink beer straight out of the tank and watch the brewing and canning process unfold at the brewery itself, or head to the Tap Room. Here the beers are served on draft, straight from the keg – it’s not all cans! As well as enjoying a few drinks, you can purchase merch here or get beers to go. Bearded Iris Brewing, Nashville, Tennessee
An IPA heavy menu makes Bearded Iris a beer lovers dream, choose from their Pale Ales, IPA's (and Double IPA's) and then kick back and relax in the on site Tap room. Rather than trying to cover every type of beer for every taste, Bearded Iris focus on exceling on their core beer selection, and they do an outstanding job. BAKFISH Brewing Company, Pearland, Texas
It’s nearly impossible to find a bad review about BAKFISH Brewing Company. The beers are good, the service is always spot on, the taproom is cozy yet spacious, and their patio comes to life when the sun’s out. You may find their beer names veer on the side of nerdy, but half the fun is deciding what owners Brian and Kris had in mind when choosing each name and label. Even BAKFISH stems from impressive creativity, Brian And Kris (BAK) and Fish coming from their love of marine biology. Interesting enough, their Tuesday night run club is a highlight for many locals as it’s a perfect way to socialize while earning your beer.
Bombshell Beer Company, Holly Springs, North Carolina
North Carolina’s first 100% women-owned brewery, owners Ellen, Michelle, and Jackie embrace the power of femininity to bring Holly Springs locals and visitors thoughtfully crafted beer and a perfect spot to drink it. Bombshell Beer Company uses top-of-the-line, American-made, production equipment and holds true to their aim of producing ‘approachable, easy-drinking quality beer’. As the name hints at, Brewers at 4001 Yancey isn't just about one specific brewery. A team consisting of Southern Tier, Sixpoint, Victory Brewing Company, and Bold Rock Cidery have come together to bring you an incredible range of beers and ciders under one (large!) roof. You can sit at one of many distinct spaces - 3 outside open-air patios, a wrap-around bar with a view into the glassed off brewery, or even in a living-room-style lounge complete with a TV to watch the game-of-the-day. Brooklyn Brewery, Brooklyn, New York
Brooklyn Lager is famous around the world, having long ago fledged across the Atlantic to the UK and beyond, into Europe and Asia – it can even be found in Japan. Brewed as the name suggests in the heart of Brooklyn, this is probably the most recognisable brewery on our list. Brewery tours and private parties are both offered by the brewery, and there is plenty of merch and more available from the brewery shop. Bullfrog Brewery Williamsport, Pennsylvania
Tucked away in downtown Williamsport, Bullfrog Brewery is a fairly inconspicuous establishment that comes alive when you go inside. As well as being an award-winning craft microbrewery, Bullfrog also operates as a pub, eatery and venue for live music, rolling everything you need for a perfect night out into one. Both beer and food is locally sourced and produced, with a “farm to table” approach taken by the brewery towards the produce it serves customers. Belgian-style ales are Bullfrog’s speciality, but since they opened in 1996, more than 500 different beers have been produced, so you’re sure to find something to your taste.
Cabinet Mountain Brewing Company, Libby, Montana
Set in a small mountain town with big views, Cabinet Mountain Brewing Company is way more than just a brewery. Due South’s beers are stocked in more than 1,000 stores, bars and restaurants across Florida state, so you know they’re good. Every single beer you can purchase in these establishments began life at the company’s Boynton Beach brewery, in a 27,000 square foot warehouse. If you want to sample the company’s beer in its natural home, then why not pay a visit to the Taproom, open from Tuesday – Sunday each week. This huge venue is the perfect place to enjoy a few beers with your mates and watch the latest sports action on TV. Edward Teach Brewery, Wilmington, North Carolina
Housed in a historic 1904 fire engine house, Edward Teach Brewery is probably one of the most impressive-looking breweries in the whole of the USA. Edward Teach was better known as Blackbeard the pirate, and this pirate theme continues throughout the brewery, with the downstairs bar built to look like Blackbeard’s ship, the Queen Anne’s Revenge. Since opening in 2017, the brewery has mastered eight craft beers for guests to enjoy and is continually developing exciting new beers to add to the menu. The best examples and top of the 'must-try' list are “Teaches Peaches” Peach Wheat, & “Devil’s Son” IPA.
Founders Brewing Company, Grand Rapids, Michigan
Founders Brewing is another company, like Brooklyn, which is recognised across the USA and beyond. Frequently rated as one of the world’s top breweries and creating the world’s top rated beers, it is a brewery worth making a visit to. Guests can enjoy a tour of the brewery to see what goes into making a Founders beer. The company’s Grand Rapids Tap Room caters to drinkers of all types of beer, with a range of delicious craft beers. There’s also food on offer, with a deli selling a range of meals including pizzas, ribs, brisket and jerk chicken, alongside a range of sides.
Forbidden Root Restaurant & Brewery, Chicago, Illinois
Forbidden Root is advertised as Chicago’s first “botanic brewery”, where all of the beverages created are inspired by nature, with a rich variety of natural ingredients used to enhance their range of craft beers. Strawberry, basil, pineapple and oak are just a small sample of the flavourings used to create the beers here. The brewery’s Chicago pub also serves food, with an extensive menu of refined comfort food, familiar but different, in much the same way as the company’s beers are. Full Sail Brewing Company, Hood River, Oregon
Home to Oregon’s original amber ale, Full Sail Brewing company run a delightful brew pub and brewery tours, showing visitors how their famous beers are created. The tour lasts for around 30 minutes and you’ll get to meet some of the brewery team and see the local ingredients used in the produce. Back in the pub, a selection of the company’s finest beers can be enjoyed alongside typical pub grub, such as fish and chips, burgers and chicken pot pie, alongside an extensive menu of sides and desserts.
Fonta Flora Brewery, Morganton, North Carolina
Combining English tradition with Belgian inspiration, Fonta Flora Brewery is known for its seasonal beer menu, which changes according to what grows in the area with the changing of the seasons. More than 30 beers are on a constant rotation, including a variety of lagers, pale ales, stouts and more. The Tasting Room “pub” is where the brewery was born and is a very pleasant place to enjoy a drink, with original hardwood flooring, exposed brickwork and an extensive beer and wine menu, sold alongside classic pub snacks.
Holidaily Brewing Company, Golden, Colorado
Holidaily is the brainchild of Karen Hertz, who, after beating cancer in her early thirties was put on a treatment plan including a gluten-free diet. As a beer lover, Karen was disappointed with the lack of gluten-free beers on the market, so went about forcing a change, with her own gluten-free brewery. With a plethora of choices, it is clear that Karen’s passion has paid off and visitors to the Tap Room in Golden, Colorado will be spoilt for choice over the array of blonde ales, IPAs and more. You can drink in at the Tap Room or order beers from the brewery to drink at home, the choice is yours.
Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, Maple Shade, New Jersey
Nothing beats drinking beer that was brewed just a matter of metres away, and this is what Iron Hill is all about. Serving the freshest, most flavoursome craft beers in New Jersey, the brewery also has venues across the USA. Iron Hill’s restaurants and breweries are also known for their iconic wall art – murals created by acclaimed artist Jeff Schaller are unique to each individual restaurant. With an extensive food menu and a range of craft beers on tap, it doesn’t come much better than this in New Jersey.
J Wakefield Brewing, Miami, Florida
J Wakefield Brewing is one of Miami’s craft beer hotspots. Found in the heart of the Wynwood Arts District, the venue taps into this location with stunning graffiti artwork decorating the venue from top to tail. This characterful Tap Room is the perfect place for a drink, and J Wakefield cater to your every need with their extensive range of craft beers. There are 15 separate taps and more than 1,200 square feet of space in which to enjoy them. Bigger sometimes really is better when it comes to craft breweries. As Kansas City’s largest locally-owned craft brewery, Kansas City Bier Company has mastered its German influence to bring guests high-quality beer and a simple warehouse-style brew and taproom to enjoy them in. Opened in 2014, with an aim to blend German-style bier with local fresh flavors, you’ll find year-round brews of Dunkel, Hefeweizen, and Helles Lager along with a range of seasonal styles to keep you coming back to try more. Located in the Waldo neighborhood, the venue is family-friendly with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
Knotty Brewing Co., San Diego, California
The focus at Knotty Brewing Co. is on clean, crisp, and highly drinkable beers, and they do this well. Each style is named after regulars, staff, friends, or family, and this allows an intimate and fun atmosphere. Local Group Brewing - Houston, Texas
A new brewery to the scene in Houston, Local Group Brewing opened its doors in late 2019 and brought an all-inclusive food, beer, and entertainment venue to Near Northside. Its name, conceived by co-owner Michael Steeves, has a dual meaning. Local, as in the massive Local Group of galaxies we call home, along with True, their devotion to be a simple local neighborhood brewery. It’s easy to see this passion reflected in the taproom, which welcomes families, pets, and beer lovers alike. Plus, with an experienced head chef whose brilliant at pairing high-class comfort food with the selection of beers on tap, you’ll enjoy the menu just as much as the beers.

Little City Brewing & Provisions Company, Raleigh, North Carolina
Since opening in 2016, Little City Brewing has gone from strength to strength. Their weekly rotation of craft beer has proved incredibly popular, with beer fans flocking back week after week to try new beverages. As well as the finest beers from across the USA, they stock plenty of their own creations too, with a dry Irish stout, American IPA and plenty more on their menu. Their bright, stylish establishment also operates as an event space, which can be hired out on a private basis to host functions and other events. And Little City Brewing does food, which can be eaten at the venue, or taken home in the form of a dinner kit, allowing you to serve up their delicious fajitas and some homemade sangria.
Lockport Brewery, Bolivar, Ohio
Lockport Brewery saw so much success on opening in 2016, that by 2018 they had had to buy a bigger restaurant and relocate. Their beers have won national awards, from their Gateway American cream ale to Kolsch, their German ale and a delicious Strawberry Hefeweizen. At their newly renovated, larger restaurant and brewery, the company also serves an array of food. Tacos, stone oven pizzas, burgers and salads can accompany your drinks, whilst you can also order food, drink and even merchandise from the company’s online shop. The beef used in the company’s burgers is reared at their very own farm, ensuring the best quality.
Lupulin Brewing, Big Lake, Minnesota
Lupulin, an active ingredient in hops, is the chosen name for co-founders Matt & Jeff craft beer company, and for good reason, they love hoppy beer. Their brewery and taproom opened in 2015 and provides residents of Big Lake a comfortable gathering place to enjoy good beer. Much of their production goes to liquor stores and bars throughout the state, so if you’re not in the area, keep an eye out for their bright and colorful cans with a picture of a hop front and center. We recommend getting a tasting board to sample one of their many experimental beers found only in the taproom.
Marshall Brewing Company, Tulsa, Oklahoma
A well-established and well-loved brewery, Marshall Brewing Company has been a staple of craft beer in Tulsa since its opening in 2008. Their popular beers land on the heavier side, with IPA’s, APA’s, and porters dominating the taps, especially its Atlas IPA with an alcohol content of 6.8% and rich malty tones. As the first commercial brewery in Tulsa since World War II, Marshall Brewing Company has continued to expand its operation with an aim to be a premiere brewery in Oklahoma, without losing its high-quality beer and top-notch service. Outer Range Brewery, Frisco, Colorado
There will be no doubt in your mind you're in Colorado when you step foot into the Outer Range Brewery in Frisco, Colorado. Complete with a rustic cabin feel and stunning mountains as a backdrop, it's equally the ideal place to relax on a hot summer day or cozy up on a cold winter's afternoon. Under the same roof, you'll find Mountain Dweller Coffee Roasters and Bird Craft restaurant, making it a one-stop-shop for great food and great beer. Pals Brewing Company is a family-owned and managed brewery, delivering “Great Beer for the Great Plains” of Nebraska. Since opening in 2017, the company has gone from strength to strength, with its range of craft beers proving extremely popular with visitors to this rural brewery. Their comfortable Tap Room serves delicious pizza and has an outside seating area for when the weather is nice. There is also loads of other things to do at the brewery, including a sand volleyball court and there’s weekly live music, so the whole family can come along for a day of craft beer, pizza and music. Peddler Brewery - Seattle, Washington
Deemed a micro-brewery due to its small-batch brews, you'd never know with its lively tasting room and large beer garden continuously buzzing with locals and tourists. The name Peddler Brewery comes from owners Haley & Dave Keller's enthusiasm for everything biking, so naturally, you'll receive a discount if you show up on 2 wheels. 4 legged friends are equally as welcome here, and with a rotation of food trucks bringing Seattle's finest food to their doors, it's a place you'll find yourself coming back to time and time again. Port City Brewing Company, Alexandria, Virginia
A quirky brewery in Virginia, you’ll know Port City is open for business if you drive past and there’s a pineapple positioned on top of the sign. A tour of this brewery yields a patented piece of machinery called the Hopzooka – which allows hops to be added to the brewery’s beer without exposing it to oxygen. PIVO Brewery - Calmar, Iowa
Nestled in a small town overflowing with charm and friendly neighbors, you’ll find PIVO Brewery, whose name simply means ‘beer’ in Czech. Owners Craig and Sara grew up nearby, and after exploring the world for 21 years, they wanted to bring back a taste of their travels to Northeast, Iowa, their true home. Their operation sticks to a holistic approach, and with an abundance of rich farmland in the region, PIVO Brewery grows its own hops, fruit, and cucumbers to use in their beer and cider. The taproom itself is equally impressive, with 40 taps showcasing their craft beer and cider along with rotating guest taps.
Roadhouse Tap Room, Jackson, Wyoming
Roadhouse in Wyoming is known for its fresh handcrafted beers, from the Highwayman pilsner to the Trout Whistle pale ale. As well as the brewery itself, there is a small Tap Room onsite, which will have 10 different beers on rotation at any one time. And there’s a high quality pub and restaurant onsite too. A range of meat and fish dishes such as seared salmon, BBQ ribs and duck breast can be washed down with some of the brewery’s finest beers.
Sickies Garage Burgers & Brewery, Sioux Falls, South Dakota
It doesn't get more American than this - giant burgers, cold beer, fried pickles, and thick shakes all served in an American style diner overflowing with character. While it's not official, rumor has it the name 'sickies' came from a person who calls into work sick but instead goes to hang out at a bar. Sickies Burgery & Brews now has 6 locations and our favorite is in Sioux Falls, South Dakota which offers 50 burgers and 50 brews. Smog City Brewery & Taproom, Torrance, California
A must for many brewery enthusiasts is the chance to sit amongst giant tanks, watch brewers at work, and smell the aroma of hops fermenting while drinking the finished product. If this is high on your list too, Smog City Brewery & Taproom in Torrance, California fits the bill. A large warehouse-style building, there’s no hiding the fact you’re in a busy brewery. A simple bar with an everchanging chalkboard sign serves up both their time-tested classics along with a few experimental beers to challenge your tastebuds. Snowbank Brewing - Fort Collins, Colorado

Snowbank Brewing, located in Fort Collins, has a range of beers including their classic Snow Juice IPA, barrel-aged stouts, and seasonal small batches that range from an autumn Pumpkin Spice Scotch Ale to a summery Coconut Cranknbrew. Stockyards Brewing Co. - Kansas City, Missouri
A historic gem from times of cowboys and cattle, Stockyards Brewing Co. has transformed an old Livestock Exchange building (after it was the original Golden Ox restaurant) into a top-of-the-line brewery and taproom, while continuing to honor its industrious roots. Stockyard Brewery also prides itself on its creative cocktails, unique Beermosas and house-brewed draft cold coffee. The Tank Brewery, Miami, Florida
At The Tank Brewery in Miami, you'll find a massive 25,000 square feet pristine warehouse that'll be any beer lover's heaven. Opened in April of 2017, The Tank Brewery's production has skyrocketed and is now a hugely popular venue for families, beer advocates, and young professionals alike. Thanks to a spacious taproom with high ceilings and minimalist decorations, you'll never feel crowded or in a rush to finish your beer. This establishment describes itself as “weird”, which is a clue suggesting that it isn’t your normal brewery. The Tap Room is extremely small, and the brewery doesn’t try to compete with others out there, simply making solid beer using local Idaho ingredients. Though the Tap Room is small, the brewery itself is the sixth largest in Idaho, a testament to the success of the beers it produces, which can be found on sale throughout the state. The small Tap Room feels more like a coffee shop, but it’s a nice place to enjoy a beer, and the restaurant next door, Manfreds, will serve food to you if you fancy a meal.
