Day Trips From Amsterdam
Amsterdam is a very walkable city, and you can easily see the main sights in a day or two, but venture further afield and you get a real taste of what the Netherlands has to offer. With so many interesting places within easy driving distance and a world class rail service between alot of the main attractions in the region, heading out of the city for a day or half day tour is a great option.

The Hague
At just an hour from Amsterdam, The Hague is a great destination for beach lovers. The pier, promenade and beautiful beach offers something for everyone. Visit the Binnenhof, the world's oldest parliament building, the Mesdag Museum and the Drievliet Amusement park to make the most of your day in The Hague
Zaanse Schans
Zaanse Schans dates from the 18th Century and is home to some of the most amazing wooden houses in all of The Netherlands. SPend hours wandering the streets or take a boat trip in the River Zaan
You can also visit the cheese making shop, clog maker, Dutch pancake restaurant and lumber mill. When you’re in Zaanse Schans, you know you’re in The Netherlands!
Zaanse Schans is only 15 inuted by train from Amterdam. You’ll need to pay to go into the windmills but it’s free to walk around. You can also get a half or full day trip by coach or private transfer from Amsterdam.
Keukenhof Gardens
Kukenhof or 'Kitchen Garden' is half an hour drive from Amterdam, and is one of the country's most popular tourist attractions. Over 7 million plants grow here every year, primarily tulips but also an array of Daffodils, Hydrangeas and cherry blossom to name but a few.
Bruges
Bruges is around a 3 hour drive from Amsterdam, but it’s well worth a visit if you’re spending a few days in the region. The main square, the ‘Markt’ is the biggest attraction, the amazing Belfort Tower offers views right across the city for free and the many cafes and bars dotted about offer a welcome break from the hours you’ll spend on your feet exploring the picturesque streets and colourful architecture. Also essential is a stroll round some of the many churches, a canal boat trip and al ook inside the beguinage Ten Wijngaerde.
Rotterdam
Rotterdam is often overlooked in favour of the larger and busier Amsterdam, but only 35 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station it’s an easily accessible day trip. Don’t miss the Markthal, the Art Wall, Cube Houses ad Delfshaven. A cruise of the harbour is a great way to see the Europe’s largest port, you can also book a full day tour to take in Delft or Hague in the same day if you like to make the most of our time!
